Science of being Rich; Applying the 80-20 rule

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

This principle fascinates me, because logically it seems far fetched but however it works and proves to me that i worry too much.
,I was in a study class for PMP certification and Mrs Otuchere mentions " solve 20% of the problem and the 80% fizzles away" gbam! Huge paradigm shift! Then why have I been working so hard to make sure it is 100% perfect, why does the FG  of Nigeria not just focus on 20% of our issues, why do I not focus on 20% of my Sales team, and stop trying to make up super strong army, why have I not focused on just 20% of my forever long list of wants, lots of why's.

I tried it!

I chose the 20% accounts I decided to give Key Account Management, I selected 20% human resource , ensured I just had 2  personal focus points at any point in time.

Results:

  1. Improved relationship with half of the 20%
  2. Increased efficiency from the team,( though at times I feel I have  not nurtured the rest enough)
  3. Results were visible to me.
  4. I was not burnt out.
Recommendation
1. Ask yourself "what do I really want?"
2 Do it consistently.
3. Focusing on 20%.

Stop being hard on yourself and focus on 20%.

The Wikipedia link will give yo more insight on the Pareto Principle.

I just read here that the principle actually came from a gardener who noticed that 80% of his peas came from 20% of the pods, in Nigerian terms this means that 80% of the beans came from 20% of the farm.

So so true!

Knowledge is useless if not applied.

Give it a try please.

Life is worth living happily.

Who cares?

Live your dream Being Successful is relative; relative is a word that strikes my mind because we define what success is. When things are finally looking up, you have nagging thoughts “will this success stay forever? I hope I will not fail again, I hope this is finally it!” happens to me . Candidly, we were born to create, control and rule, we have this natural instinct to want more things, grow from phase to phase, different things, but one thing that is constant is the fact we need to move forward. Success is achieving set goals, goals are not tasks, they are what you want to achieve at a point in time, and the goal has to be timed. We finally achieve the goal, which is success, and you reward yourself, and it does not feel as you imagined it will be, maybe you have poured yourself into the mould that you have lost a number of relationships, you have been too hard on yourself, you never enjoyed your path to success, you have a feeling of emptiness, Success is not meant to feel wrong! ...

Science of Successful.

Becoming Successful is never dependent of your location, the kind of job or profession, neither is it about the way you look, or the kind of family you come from. I have spent a great part of my life in Nigeria and I got a lot of things wrong,  yes I do love Nigeria but I can honestly say that I was not happy with the infrastructure, lifestyle of my neighborhood, Schools I had gone to, just to list a few. My career has been dynamic,  my formative years  at a pharmaceutical Company gave me a strong foundation. I have been opportuned to be part of various projects, I have driven volumes for my respective territories or Area. During the last election, I preached the gospel of APC  because of Babatunde Raji Fashola . Lagos had transformed from a slum to a city I am proud of as a Nigerian, Lagos state should be a model we can repeat Nationwide. One phrase that rings in my ears, Entrepreneurship!. Being an Entrepreneur in Nigeria is scary, especially if you went to a Nigerian University. Rea...
