How to Manage a difficult Sales Manager.

Sales jobs come with a lot of pressure, having a difficult Manager comes with the terrain once in a while. It is impossible to like every manager you are assigned to, hence the ability to manage a difficult Manager is a Skill set you have to learn. Many of us salesmen are cheeky, mischievous and do not enjoy meeting deadlines, Managers are required to achieve set goals with resources available. In Nigeria, resources assigned to Managers are grossly inadequate, this causes friction with the Manager and the team being led. Manage your Manager like a Customer is a simple Solution. As Salesmen, we hear want we want to hear, assuming you know what is always being said is a dangerous. " Listening is how the brain processes what you hear" Source: Listen - https://en.wikipedia.org Experience has made us to be wary of the "Mean Manager" from experience you have concluded that nothing good can come out of his mouth. This is the beginning of a disaster. Listen with...

Salesmen are not Superheroes.

I have come to notice that the Sales Team are either regarded as a "Super Hero" or a "Criminal" There is a limit the human nature can take. Salesmen are constantly battered for not meeting their targets, betrayed by Company and customers, incomes are not steady due to the fact they are the most vulnerable during layoffs, Salary Structure varies from Industry and job security is low. I have heard times without number, if the product is doing above expectation "The product is selling itself" and when the product is doing badly "The Sales team is Sleeping". It takes a strong character to remain in sales as a profession. Unfortunately, in Nigeria, the mental state of people is not given consideration until the individual starts to walk around the market naked. Be kind to your Sales team, they are human beings. Are Nigerian Sales Men Opportunists?

My morning rituals include listening to Muyiwa Afolabi's "Frankly Speaking" and this particular episode did make me "Laugh out Loud" I chuckled and grinned to myself. I was tired and drowsy and all I wanted was to return home. I was bored and ticked off by the weather and tired of their food too. I just wanted to go home. While trying to contain my frustration, a young lady possibly in her late twenties walked in my direction dragging her beautiful suitcase on wheels with one hand and her laptop bag clutched in the other hand. She was European, but not English...

Salesman live your dream!

―  Criss Jami ,  Healology Salesmen are consistently filled with fear; we have been told other the years that "Salesmen are thieves" we have become a necessary evil to most Organisations. We have been consistently meeting targets set by others for us to achieve, but have you met your personal target? Let us move away from the "building the house and buying the car" kind of target. ―   Ernest Agyemang Yeboah we do not need to live by the standard set in books, we can break the norms, as salesmen we need to have personal goals, what else can I do? Should be a question you should ask yourself each morning. I know we have tried our hands on a venture before and chances are it failed, be strong and get up. Emotionally, Sales can be draining, if you do not have a strong support system of a big hot WHY? you shouldl have thrown in the towel. Yet you see yourself in love with this abusive relationship of Sales. Unfortunately, most of us believe we do not have another calling...
