How to Manage a difficult Sales Manager.

Sales jobs come with a lot of pressure, having a difficult Manager comes with the terrain once in a while. It is impossible to like every manager you are assigned to, hence the ability to manage a difficult Manager is a Skill set you have to learn. Many of us salesmen are cheeky, mischievous and do not enjoy meeting deadlines, Managers are required to achieve set goals with resources available. In Nigeria, resources assigned to Managers are grossly inadequate, this causes friction with the Manager and the team being led.

Manage your Manager like a Customer is a simple Solution.

As Salesmen, we hear want we want to hear, assuming you know what is always being said is a dangerous.

" Listening is how the brain processes what you hear"

Experience has made us to be wary of the "Mean Manager" from experience you have concluded that nothing good can come out of his mouth. This is the beginning of a disaster. Listen with an open mind. I agree with you that there is a great tendency that you will not like what you hear. Push yourself to be positive about what you hear.

I have had a Manager, I believed was a weakling, he always wanted to please Management, without a hoot regard about his team, whatever he said, I was quick to assume that he was biased, hence my body language was in constant defiance to his authority. We had a constant friction. With all sincerity, when you defy authority, your team will do the same to you, you lose your credibility and integrity, your team members either see you as a time bomb ready to explode, and shift their loyalty to the superior Manager. You are at risk. If you lose your army, you have lost the war. Why sacrifice your team because of your ego which is set out to prove to you that your Manager is an idiot?

"In the creative arts and sciences, a statement of gratitude for assistance in producing a work"

If we could apply this definition, we would have less issues with our Managers, instead we give a statement of hostility for producing a work. Giving acknowledgement to other people will make you a better person.

I acknowledge that we all have deep resentment regarding sales Managers, either a present one, or one you had in the past, try to give "a statement of gratitude for assistance in producing a work"

Gather Information regarding the assignment, give feedback. Be truthful, with a previous acknowledgement, your manager will be open to Listen to you.

The previous two steps have put you in the right state of mind to be positive. You are not as obnoxious and heady.

Sincerely, Every Manager wants to be liked. However, Managers want to know in advance your opinion. Please respond. Say something. Good or bad, give a response. Reply your mails, pick your calls, be part of the team.

Ask your Manager "What do you need me to do?"

"Sealing of a Covenant" Give your word regarding the task, keep your word regarding the task.

I guarantee a peaceful relationship with your Sales Manager if you can follow these 5 quick steps.

Live your dream Being Successful is relative; relative is a word that strikes my mind because we define what success is. When things are finally looking up, you have nagging thoughts “will this success stay forever? I hope I will not fail again, I hope this is finally it!” happens to me . Candidly, we were born to create, control and rule, we have this natural instinct to want more things, grow from phase to phase, different things, but one thing that is constant is the fact we need to move forward. Success is achieving set goals, goals are not tasks, they are what you want to achieve at a point in time, and the goal has to be timed. We finally achieve the goal, which is success, and you reward yourself, and it does not feel as you imagined it will be, maybe you have poured yourself into the mould that you have lost a number of relationships, you have been too hard on yourself, you never enjoyed your path to success, you have a feeling of emptiness, Success is not meant to feel wrong! ...
