The Relationship between “Fantastic Customer Service” and Salesmanship.

I get cranky when I receive lousy customer service, I have screamed at the MTN Offices (Opebi and Oluyole) I have screamed at the DSTV office at Jericho, Etisalat office at The Palms at Ring road, rolled my eyes at the administrators at my daughters' schools, screamed at the bank, Ali tries to stop my show of top notch customer service, he keeps me in the car while he pays the bills. (I am forever grateful that my Bank is 10/10 on mobile payments.)

I have been to a few places, and the Customer service is so pleasant, I wonder "is it the training on the job? or the individual is pleasant?" The In vivo Supermarket/ YUdala makes you enjoy your shopping experience time and time again, I just wonder!

As a Salesman, we are brainwashed and indoctrinated that "Customers are always right" but how come we still have lousy Customer Service?

Individual Ignorance: In the Yoruba Culture, being calm, cool and collected can be mistaken as being "STUPID" I was quite reserved while growing up, and I have been called many names due to my lack of reciprocation of anger when I get bullied or stepped upon. I know that many of us trained by our Society, to fight, shout, bully, demand for anything we want disregarding the other person's position. Even a simple walk down the road, and yet people push and shove into you for no reason, you get cut off in traffic for being too polite behind the wheel. I am just trying to make you understand that we should not take manners for granted, we have a generation of confused people who do not know their ideology. I believe there is "Dignity in Labour" I have seen people whom move to the aggressive mode once they are treated nicely, we were not all raised to have manners.

"Please and Thank you" the two magic words, are not as magical as can be.

Individual Stinky Attitude: Some attitudes simply stink.

The job will never get done, because a stinky attitude will always smell bad. The smell contaminates the room; the rest of the team will also smell bad if you do not get rid of the smell. If the attitude of the staff is not a direct proportion to your dream, for your own good, get him off the horse.

Condescending, arrogant, complaisant, disdainful, egotistic, lofty, lordly, patronizing, smart ass, snobbish, snooty, supercilious, superior, uppish, uppity – Thesaurus.com – Arrogance

Unfortunately, each negative action rubs off on the Organisation, so each nasty experience will be associated with your Corporate Image.

Change begins with me.

Who cares?

Live your dream Being Successful is relative; relative is a word that strikes my mind because we define what success is. When things are finally looking up, you have nagging thoughts “will this success stay forever? I hope I will not fail again, I hope this is finally it!” happens to me . Candidly, we were born to create, control and rule, we have this natural instinct to want more things, grow from phase to phase, different things, but one thing that is constant is the fact we need to move forward. Success is achieving set goals, goals are not tasks, they are what you want to achieve at a point in time, and the goal has to be timed. We finally achieve the goal, which is success, and you reward yourself, and it does not feel as you imagined it will be, maybe you have poured yourself into the mould that you have lost a number of relationships, you have been too hard on yourself, you never enjoyed your path to success, you have a feeling of emptiness, Success is not meant to feel wrong! ...

Science of Successful.

Becoming Successful is never dependent of your location, the kind of job or profession, neither is it about the way you look, or the kind of family you come from. I have spent a great part of my life in Nigeria and I got a lot of things wrong,  yes I do love Nigeria but I can honestly say that I was not happy with the infrastructure, lifestyle of my neighborhood, Schools I had gone to, just to list a few. My career has been dynamic,  my formative years  at a pharmaceutical Company gave me a strong foundation. I have been opportuned to be part of various projects, I have driven volumes for my respective territories or Area. During the last election, I preached the gospel of APC  because of Babatunde Raji Fashola . Lagos had transformed from a slum to a city I am proud of as a Nigerian, Lagos state should be a model we can repeat Nationwide. One phrase that rings in my ears, Entrepreneurship!. Being an Entrepreneur in Nigeria is scary, especially if you went to a Nigerian University. Rea...
